About Ito
ito is a Berlin-based textile studio founded by Ayako Matsuo in 2015. Working with hand-tufting as a primary technique, Ito creates contemporary textile objects designed for everyday spaces. Each piece explores the balance between function and art, bringing texture, form, and character into the home. Rooted in a thoughtful approach to materials and process, Ito focuses on quality, longevity, and small-batch production.
About Production
Every piece is designed and hand-tufted by Ayako in her Berlin studio. From initial sketch to final trimming, the process is carefully guided by hand. High-quality yarns sourced from Germany and Switzerland are carefully selected for their durability and texture.Each colour is hand-dyed in small batches in the studio, creating subtle depth and variation. Produced in small batches, each object carries subtle variations - a natural result of working by hand. The focus is simple: create textile pieces that are made with care and meant to live with you over time.
